A big scandal in the name of widow pension has been revealed in Uttar Pradesh. In the widow pension, the base number of more than one lakh beneficiaries has been found to be fake.
Apart from this, a big mess has been detected in the bank accounts of about 15 thousand pensioners. After the disclosure of the scandal, the Yogi government of the state handed it over to the DPO.
Let us tell you that the Uttar Pradesh government schemes a scheme to provide pension to widows, under this pension, 17.5 lakh women are being assisted. More recently, the government had ordered all pensioners to link their accounts with Aadhaar cards. The software was also being monitored for this.
Now the investigation of the software has only revealed that millions of people have been fraudulent in it. According to the investigation, a pension of 500 rupees was given as a pension, many other pension benefits are being given in those same accounts.
These investigations have been done on the basis of the bills submitted for the pension, which found that the beneficiaries were taking pension money from the government. There were also many of them whose base numbers were wrong, and many were not even alive.
After the disclosure, the UPA Government has submitted the inquiry to the DPO. The DPO will report every beneficiary at the district level, after which the widow pension will be released. Until then all suspicious account holders have been blocked, the list has been sent to the government. Only after verification it will get benefit of pension plan.
It is worth mentioning that the women welfare department pays a monthly pension of Rs 500 every month to all these beneficiaries. It is paid 3 months together. Assuming the sources, the fraud was not done by most beneficiaries but by government collusion. The government has tried to take all of these actions soon.
