On Tuesday, Srinagar and Manali had the first snowfall of the season.



Dehradun / Srinagar / Chandigarh After the first snowfall of the season on Tuesday in Srinagar, there was snowfall in Rajouri in the state on Wednesday. Jammu-Srinagar highway connecting the valley to the rest of the country is also closed for the third consecutive day. On the other hand, in Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, Manali, Narkanda, Solan and Uttarakhand's Kedarnath 2 feet and Badrinath received 1ft snowfall. Mercury in Lahoul-Spiti-4.9

According to the Weather Department, after the snowfall, Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh reached mercury at -4.9 degrees Wednesday.

50 cm fall snow in Rohtang

On Tuesday, the first snowfall of the season in Narkanda, Sangla, Solang and Manali was held here.

Rohtang has snowfall up to 50 centimeters. Kaksar, Solang and Mari have dropped 38 centimeters in snow.

Rainfall in low-lying areas

Rainfall occurred in the lower hills of Himachal on Tuesday. Gagal (114 mm), Dalhousie (112 mm), Dharamsala (111 mm) and Dehra Gopipur (96 mm) rain were recorded.

Temperatures in the plains of the state have gone from five to six degrees below normal due to the rain accompanied by snowfall.

Kedarnath Dham on Tuesday received snowfall throughout the day. There is more than 2 feet more snowfall. Badrinath Dham has received about 1ft snowfall. Ice is constantly falling in Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham.

Besides, there is also heavy snowfall in Munasari in Pithoragarh district.

Punjab and Haryana also increased winter

The effect of the snowfall on the mountains is being felt in the plains. Mercury has reached 10 to 15 degrees in Punjab and Haryana.

On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Amritsar was 10.8 degrees and maximum temperature was 15.8 degrees.

Ludhiana recorded 16.4 degrees and min 12.4 degrees.

In Patiala, the minimum temperature was recorded at 13.5 degree and maximum was 16.7 degree.

In Haryana, the minimum temperature was recorded at Ambala (13.8) and maximum (19.5 degrees).

Hisar Karnal has a minimum temperature of 12.9 degree Celsius.
