MBBS student, returning to hostel, raped by peon at college campus

New Delhi: Rap incident of MBBA student of the first-year student of Bhubaneshwar's private medical college has emerged.

A case of rape with a MBBS student was found in a private medical college in Odisha. It is being told that the girl was reportedly raped in the college premises. Police said that in their FIR lodged in Mancheshwar police station, the student alleged that a peon of the college raped her when she was returning to her hostel.

Bhubaneswar's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Satyabrat Bhoi said, "We have arrested a man on the complaint of a girl. Both the victim and the accused are undergoing a medical examination. He said that the police has also recorded the statement of the victim under section 161 of the CrPC.

Private college chairman Tirupati Panigrahi said, "The incident happened at 12.30 in the evening at around 12 o'clock in the evening. The girl did not know the name of the peon. We have identified the accused and handed him over to the police. " Police said that the accused has been identified as Manoj Khuntiya, a resident of Athagarh in Cuttack district. Khuntiya claimed that he was innocent and the charges against him were baseless and false.
