In the lower judiciary, online payments will be made soon to get court fees and penalties for pending cases. This step will prove to be helpful in reducing the crowds of ordinary people and lawyers in the courts.
Recently, the e-Court Committee of the Supreme Court has made necessary changes to its information system. Simultaneously, the High Court has asked the state government to allow online payment to amend the court fees.
This is part of the Project Committee's digitization program, which aims at early disposal of cases and reduction of crowded courts.
The committee, headed by apex court justice MB Lokur, recently launched an e-mail order system. This tells the litigator about the coming cases. The situation of the case and the final order of the court is part of the message sent to them, which help the litigant to remind about the previous hearing.
Court fees are also given in the form of Treasury payments. It is deposited in the court for matters like property dispute, motor accident claims and petitions filed for arbitration in the court.
Explain that the calculation of court fee is different in different states. Even the High Courts have prepared their method for calculating the fee.
