Prime Minister Narendra Modi's convoy wandered on his way to inaugurate the Majesta Line Metro on Christmas day. UP police have now taken action against two policemen in this case of defaults insecurity.
According to the news agency PTI, Senior Superintendent of Police Luv Kumar said on Wednesday that during his return to the helipad located at the Botanical Gardens from the public meeting of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he lost his way on the convoy expressway. Kumar said that on Monday afternoon, at 2.35 pm, the Prime Minister was going towards the Botanical Garden via the service road of the convoy expressway.
On his way, the driver of the forwarding anti-demo vehicle in his convoy had climbed the expressway from the cut coming before the scheduled path. Security forces were not deployed on the path to protect the prime minister.
He said, as soon as the Prime Minister wandered the convoy route and got on the expressway before the scheduled route. The police immediately took action and stopped the vehicles coming from there and hurriedly forwarded the Prime Minister's convoy to the convoy. The official said that the investigation of this case was handed over to the Municipal Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar.
The driver of the anti-demo vehicle in the investigation and the deputy inspector in charge have found guilty of this mistake. Kumar said that departmental proceedings are being done against the guilty policemen on the basis of the report received from the Superintendent of Police. He said that the Prime Minister's convoy was halted for about two minutes due to wandering the road.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is accompanying the Prime Minister, has expressed his displeasure over the incident of wandering the road of the convoy. Kumar said that the convoy was in charge of the IPS officer Nitin Tiwari. The matter is also being examined from the governance level.
