Diesel became expensive in Kolkata today, 18 December 2017 price of Rs 61.21 per liter

Kolkata. Due to daily price revising pattern, diesel price has reached level of Rs 61.21 per liter on 18th December, 2017 in Kolkata today. Earlier, yesterday the price of diesel was at Rs 61.14 per liter.

All three major petroleum companies of the country revive diesel prices daily on the basis of Indian Oil (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) International Market. Due to this, prices of diesel in Kolkata are changed at 6 a.m. every morning. Prior to that, the prices of diesel were changed every 15 days before the system. Later on 16th June, 2017, their prices are changed every day. Initially, on May 1, under the Pilot Project, there was daily review of the price of diesel in five cities Puducherry, Visakhapatnam, Udaipur, Jamshedpur and Chandigarh. However, after the successful completion of the system, the system of price revision has been implemented from June 16 onwards.

Let the old system of revising prices on every 15 days begin on April 1, 2002. Under this, changes were made in the prices of diesel and diesel in the international market in the last 15 days and prices were based on the prices of rupees in the international market. In fact, the government wanted to free petroleum products. This led to the introduction of price modifications on every 15 days and later on the basis of the scheme.
